Ms. Yamawaki started studying Urushi art in college in 2008, and now exhibits her products in shops and galleries. Her ornaments depict themes of birth and fertility – such as seeds, buds, branches, or flowers. They often seem to blend in naturally with the human body, giving her work a unique appeal.
